DoBeDo is based on the Deep Talk approach, which was originally conceived as a way of improving communication and solving problems amongst teams in different businesses in Finland. Deep Talk is now used in a wide range of sectors and its positive effect on wellbeing is currently being researched by four universities in Finland, Ireland and Namibia.
Kate and Kathryn wanted to encourage people to take that same atmosphere into all sorts of places and contexts, and so they founded DoBeDo. We want to collaborate and learn with others. DoBeDo is about coming together to share stories in a way that nurtures relationships, values playfulness and invites openness to change. It’s about trying to live this out in our lives and communities.
Co-founder of DoBeDo, mum of six home educated children, follower of Charlotte Mason’s educational philosophy.
Kate loves singing in her bubble as the Caroenavirus Singers and supporting the Steel City Choristers. She was previously responsible for Godly Play® at Sheffield Cathedral. Before children Kate worked for media agencies in London and Lisbon, studied Japanese and lived in Tokyo.
Co-founder of DoBeDo, trainer for Deep Talk, Godly Play® and Stories for the Soul, a spiritual accompanier and retreat leader. Kathryn is a companion of Contemplative Fire.
Living in Sheffield, Kathryn enjoys wild swimming and hanging out with friends and family. She has two grown up children and a past career as a secondary school teacher.
The DoBeDo community gathers in our Facebook group to encourage each other in the DoBeDo approach. Here people contribute ideas around the core principles of engaging with stories while
being open to change
